I told Oppo that my father was looking for a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Oppos were very helpful by the way, thanks! I was trying to sway him toward a new Taco, because that is what I would want if I was in the market for a new truck. Honestly, he was pretty sold on it pending a test drive. However, a few of your comments made me re think my influence and I’m glad that I did. He had already driven an F150, and liked it. So I told him that it was probably the best option for him. He picked it up yesterday. 2017 F150 XLT crew cab 6.5' bed 3.5L Ecoboost w/ the 10 speed. It’s huge.

HammerheadFistpunch mentioned the Ridgeline and advised against the Taco due to seating position, which reminded me that my dad is always bitching about the difficulty of getting in and out of cars. He nixed the Ridgeline because it only comes in non colors and he was looking for something hella red. Saracen Manual Douche Elitist said that the F150 is probably the best for a guy who has been driving BMWs for the past 10 years or so, and I agree. The taco is a truck for trucks sake, and my dad was after a truck for having a trucks sake. That 6.5' bed will get used once per year when they go on vacation haha.

Yes, I drove it. It’s super smooth and the 3.5 Ecoboost has plenty of power. However I slightly prefer my pal’s lifted F250, and greatly prefer my Ranger because I don’t enjoy driving large cars/trucks. Most importantly, my dad loves it. Anyway, thanks for your comments/advice!

its a nice looking truck. Glad he got something he wanted. They are HUGE though. my coworker bought one recently and its so much taller than my lifted cruiser.

Huge! I drove it to pick up takeout, and was not at all comfortable in the parking lot. He used to bitch about getting in and out of the car, I can’t wait to hear how much he hates parking it! It’s not my particular cup of tea but it is a really nice truck.

Thanks! I wish it was a Raptor, but even if it was it’s too big for me. My Ranger is the largest (longest) vehicle I’ve owned!

Welcome, vicariously, to the oppo F150 club. The full 6.5' bed on a crew cab makes for a long truck. On my 05, I went with the 5.5' bed with the crew cab and never regretted it in a parking lot.

My father traded in his 2012 F150 XLT for a 2017 F150 Limited about 8 months ago. He loves the truck. They’re really nice, and honestly ride better than a lot of luxury vehicles. Then again, when you drop close to 50k for a vehicle it should ride pretty nice.

I love my 15 Lariat FX4 3.5 EB, it actually feels small and nimble to me but I’ve been driving heavy duty trucks for work since 2000. Best truck on the market in my opinion. Love the look of his, real bed and correct engine too

Seriously, how boring is Honda with their non colors. My dad bought a F150 in 1999 in a similar shade of hella red and he still has it.

Yea the prices on trucks are crazy, his was close to that. Personally anything over $35-40k has to be a really fast small car.

So boring, I’m a colors guy too. I’ve got the wildest color option on every vehicle I own. Phoenix yellow, Sepang blue, Marigold yellow, Bright red.

Also, depending on where you live, namely the Southeast US, the F150 will resell higher than the Taco.
